Write about something you did accidentally when you were young
Talking about accidents that happened out of my innocence when I was young, of course, there is a lot to name, but the most memorable and unforgettable accident was none other than this….
During my early childhood days, I was curious and inquisitive about almost anything like anyone else. I would be asking the adults “What is this and that for?” and those entire “Why” questions that popped out whenever I discovered something new to me. At times, I also irritated my parents. And I could remember that I always cannot resist asking if I could try using the scissors, of course, the usual reply, “No,” as in not to touch or handle the scissors.
And there came this opportunity. Facing this pair of scissors that seemed to be really interesting to me, I was tempted to try it on something. An inner voice inspired me to do something. Looking around, I reached for it. Curiosity suffused my being. Suddenly it sparked me that I could try using the pair of scissors on my hair, just like what I always see happening in the hair salons (which always succeeds in drawing my interest in and slowed down my footsteps). Gripping the pair of scissors in my hand, I made a dash to the toilet after making sure that my parents were not aware of it. Excitedly, I grabbed a strand of hair and yes! I made the cut! That instant moment that I was always wishing for- I felt my mind whirring with excitement. But things were not turning out as it supposed to….To my bewilderment, I did not position the scissors properly and I had cut my finger on accident! Anxiety coursed through my veins as I stared blankly at the bleeding on my finger. My focus changed; I got the feeling of impending doom as I heard my mother’s footsteps coming towards the toilet. Just as I have expected, her forehead creased in an angry frown immediately after she saw me holding the pair of scissors and hair in my hands.
“What are you doing?!” She bellowed.
I stood forlornly as my mother stem the bleeding on my finger. I felt bad and embarrassed that I did this behind her back and even hurt myself.
Without any doubt, the scolding I received was inevitable. I was also taught the correct way to handle scissors in case my curiosity got the better of me again. From then on, I am more aware of dangerous objects and also learnt to take the adults’ advice seriously. (:
