Write about something that you did accidentally wrong when you were young.
Childhood memories are precious. Some are fun, some are sad, some are angry moments, while others may be fun. Yet with all these difference, whether happy or sad, there is a similarity - learning a lesson from it. So, i am going to write about this as i learnt a very inportant lesson about putting myself in others' shoes and try to care for one another as much as possible.
One stormy afternoon, i arrived at my aunt's house where my younger cousin stayed. My parents were attending important matters with my aunt so we were to behave ourselves in the house with our grandmother. I was only around 9 then while my cousin was a year younger. At the thought of our parents leaving, my cousin and i were a litle afraid and hesitant. As young children, we were naturally more dependent on our parents. Fortunately, we had each others' company.
The sky was getting darker by the minute. It was clear that a storm was coming. Grey clouds filled the sky. There was loud thunder and lightning flashed through the sky. We promised our grandmother, "We will take care of each other." Our grandmother after asking for our assurance for the thousandth time, then went off to have an afternoon's nap.
We then decided to play the classic children's game, Hide and Seek. After much debate on who to be the person hiding, I won. "20, 19, 18, 17...", my cousin counted while I went to hide. "Where should I hide?" I asked myself. Hmm, I thought, under the bed! It was the perfect idea, or so it seems. So I tiptoed to the master bedroom and hid under the huge bed. The floor was cold and I was practically quite annoyed after a while as my cousin searched and searched. Where was she coming?
Finally, I saw her feet walking into the master bedroom. She peeped under the bed and I shouted, "Boo! you found me!" so loudly that she screamed a silent scream. I must have scared her out of her wits. Oh dear, as a child, I didn't realise that it would scare her. I immediately climbed out of the bed and consoled my cousin, "I am sorry. I didn't know you were not prepared for the "Boo!", as this is normally how I end the game. Don't worry, there is no ghost or monster under the bed. "
We went to my cousin's room. My cousin cuddled up to me and took a few pillow, propping them up surrounding us like a castle. For the rest of the pillows, we hugged them. The room was geting cooler and cooler. The breeze through the window was so comfortable that we both fell asleep in the presence of each other's comfort and the pillows.
Through this, I learnt a lesson. I learnt that putting ourselves in other's shoes are paramount. We should also care for one another and be more considerate towards the feelings of others.
